This is my contribution to the Hetalia GFX Project!
What? WHAT IS IT? Here ya go you poor poor soul:
HERE! I'm going to tell you all a tale. It's about the time I gathered up the courage to try out for the Hetalia GFX Project. Thus I recommend that you all grab some popcorn, get a pillow and listen well before moving on!
I was fifteen years old... I'm still fifteen years old. I realised that I've been in the Hetalia fandom for ... almost a year and a half? I wanted to desperately contribute, but I couldn't draw fanart. I wasn't confident in my writing, and my AMVs needed work. Then I started making icons.
So I decided to make icons for the Hetalia community. I wanted to do something. Unfortunately, my CS3 had been deleted off my Mac and I started off using Photoshop online. Nothing fancy, no textures. Just a lot of colour editing and little extra text. Then my CS3 came back ;u; and I discovered textures. <333
Anyway, blah blah blah I gathered up the courage to try out for the Hetalia GFX Project, and I kept freaking out about whether my stuff was alright or not. You should have seen me when I found out I made it through. I mean, sure it may not seem like a big deal but DUDE I barely have confidence in my stuff. Especially since, even now, I'm still experimenting and trying to decide on certain techniques. I've got to admit though, after I finished my contribution to the project, I wasn't entirely satisfied... and I ended up making a different batch of icons that were nicer. I'll post those on Sunday.
OKAY WOAH SILLY ME TMI sorry~
I'm super happy/glad to be contributing to such a wonderful project and have my work be shown along with other super amazing designers! These are people that I've seen so many times post icons and I'd go "efnwdf PRETTY!!" and ... this is super awesomesauce. Everyone's work is much nicer than mine, but this has motivated me to keep on practicing and hopefully reach the same level as the others <3
.... I really should just move on, shouldn't I?
