"Hmmm, what does Dallas think about healthcare?"

Went to a town hall meeting hosted by the Texas Medical Association yesterday.

The demographics amused me:
- retirees, doctors, and a few students like myself
- overwhelmingly white, with a few Asians and African-Americans scattered about
- homogenously middle class

The nice thing about working in a clinic plus volunteering at a hospital is getting perspectives on the healthcare reform. The people I've talked to seem more realistic about the reform than your town hall. The social issues surrounding healthcare are definitely not just wrapped up in insurance but it's the most tangible.

I'm not entirely sure what to make of the reform bill. I wish there was some kind of clarity about the bill. Instead all I get is screaming people, signs, people talking over each other, and confusion. -_-
