Have any of you ever fallen so in love with a character that you wish you had created him/her? I have about four of them that I just love!

The first is Diana Trent from Waiting For God. I love that old woman! She's irascible, stubborn, feisty, opinionated, stubborn, intelligent, and did I mention stubborn? She's very accustomed to getting her own way, and usually will not take "no" for an answer.

The second is another television character, from another Britcom - As Time Goes By. I first watch ATGB on NCPT (North Carolina Public Television) on Saturday evenings. At first, Alistair Deacon seems to be a total git, and one wonders how Lionel got saddled with him. But if you binge-watch the entire series, start to finish, you'll see Alistair grow as a character. I love him! He deserves far better than set-blanket/spoilt brat Judith, though. *snort* In the AU RP I do, he's married to Mad Queen Bess instead (Miranda Richardson). *g*

The third is a literary character, from the Guild of the Cowry Catchers, by Abigail Hilton. If you haven't read it, and don't object to same sex couples, I strongly recommend reading the entire thing. The author has the first two parts up as freebies, but by the time you finish them, you will probably be as hooked as I was, so just go ahead & buy the whole damn thing to start with. Admiral Silveo Lamire is the standout character from this series. The world of Panamindorah is populated, not by humans, but by animals and their "shelt" - kind of a furry cross between the animal and human. Silveo is a foxling, kind of an arctic fox on two legs. Silveo is "mad, bad, and dangerous to know." And I am utterly in love with him. *g*

The most recent is another book character, from the Bad in Baltimore series by KA Mitchell, who is among my current favorite M/M writers. The standout character from this series so far (four novels & counting) is Eli Wright, a 22-going on 23 year old gay man who has been on his own since his parents tossed his things out into the yard when he was 17. He spent his senior year of high school scrounging places to sleep, so he could graduate, and yes, some nights he turned tricks just to have a place to sleep. He's about 5'7", slender, hair the color of dark roasted coffee, very obviously gay. He knows how young he looks (his love interest in the second book, Quinn Maloney, thinks he looks almost as young as the ninth graders Quinn teachers), and is pragmatic about it. Before Quinn can even ask him the question, Eli hands him his drivers license to prove his age. He's a pretty important character in all four novels so far, bouncing in & out of everyone's lives, pushing them to make the changes he deems necessary. He's a stereotype, I know, but I love him anyway! I do recommend this series, by the way. I'm having fun trying to figure out who the next central couple will be in the next novel. I can't decide if the next one will involve Beach or Marco as the one meeting his love. *g*
