there IS a way of putting a padlock on a door so that it can be locked from the outside, but... it can be really antagonistic to do so and is best as a worst-case scenario (like if your roomie has an SO who steals cds for drug money, that kind of thing). i mean that if it isn't obvious why you're doing it and something everyone generally agrees is a good idea, it could cause more friction than it's worth. anyway, what you do is get a padlock hinge thingie and bend it, so that the loop is on the door and the plate that the loop goes thru is on the frame, and then you put the lock thru the loop. but seriously, only do this if it's totally necessary.

i don't personally ever want to live with someone i'm not either descended from or in <3 with. can't handle the roommate thing at all!

Dude, sorry about your room, but for some reason, the story didn´t surprise me at all. Glad you had fun at the Margaret Cho thing. Its a pair of sneakers that most would and do consider ugly! Nike Makes them, they look like a normal sneaker until you hit the heel of the shoe and then there are theese 4 rubber looking squishey posts that provide more support and cushioning for your body!!
