Gotta say... epsiode 2, Digimon season 6 Xros Wars
I'm lovin' it.
Right down to Taiki's MJ dance moves.
This shit is awesome.
I knew that I was going to love the return to the Digital World way of doing things. I just forgot how much.
Not a lot on the two other characters, I haven't even learned their names. The chick speaks a lot, go figure. But still stuck in gotta get home mode. No bonding with the Digital World at all, but that is usually the pace from season 1.Can't blame her, getting dragged in rather sudden would leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth. Bonus, she meets a nice pink bunny Digimon, which, honestly... I sword that Ryuichi made his beloved Kumagoro into a digimon. But to make matters worse, the things name is Cutemon. lolz.
And I was stunned to learn Cutemon is in fact MALE?!!!! (as indicated in the speech using boku) So... this brings the point... are Digimon genderless... that is what I was going with... and the boku thing was just a preference in speech for the voice actor or something. who knows. But then Shoutmon (I love this character!! All his cute little attacks! The Rowdy Rocker had me laughing and giggling. I'd like to see Kyo pull *that* off!) Where was I...? Yes. So Shoutmon starts talking about having good food and hot ladies (in the Digiworld this means seeing Lilymon's dance around like strippers... or not so much.)
But yea... and we finally get a glimpse at the new characters. This one chick being all mysterious and stuff. She fights with blondie dude. Who I am more than likely destined to fall in love with. (What can I say. ^__^; )
But we learn from the next episode preview his name is Kiriha. I'm stoked about that next episode to say the least. YESSSS!!! And I feel instant yaoi potential coming as well. Who knew digimon had a knack for that. (sigh) Perhaps there was some innocence to me in my childhood, because I missed those hints in the first two seasons... yes, I am talking about that Taito and and Daiken. I missed it, I am ashamed to admit my brother had to inform me. (sigh) lol
Moving on.
I like how the drama level went up instantly. And for once, it wasn't the humans bringing the drama!! Shoutmon started it, crying when Taichi coldly (it was kinda cold) told him to pursue his dreams on his own and leave him out of it. Not in those words, but basically the gist.
Naturally, they go off and nearly get tentacle raped (the humans that is) by MadLeomon (can't wait for like halfway through, or a 4th of the way if this spans more like 1st season, when MadLeomon returns to Leomon... and in keeping with his trend of returning to the righteous side, dies. lol. Poor Leomon... a regular black man for the series of Digimon)
But yea... tenticles rape.... MadLeomon combines with Orochimarumon... technically Orochimon, based off the legend, not Naruto. lol. But you get the idea of what I couldn't help but think. Or perhaps it had something to do with them being ambushed in a forest... possible throw back to Naruto? That would be sad if so.... -_-;
Either way, Taiki bonds and grows to understand Shoutmon more with his ambition to become the Digimon King. (this sounds familiar.... not sure where from...)
I like the line that Taiki gives about Xros ability, how covering einander's weaknesses, that is the strength behind Xros mode.
Ma bro and I are still trying to figure out WTF is up with the Digimon tier now. I mean... are we still working champions and ultimates here. Or is this all out of wack. He proposed a good idea, a perfect level. But then what? God? Wait... I think they already have those. Whatever. Probably like season 2 where combining just throws everything out of wack crazy.
Besides, Shoutmon and Blastmon's Xros is like DNAdigivolving on crack. Ah... I miss DNAdigivolving. (sigh) Good times.
A very nostalgic feel. Speaking of which, I love the decision to stick with old style animation and not go with something more spiffy and updone, because it really keeps the childhood adventure series appeal that way. I have a feeling this season was made for the old timers like myself in mind too. Very much so, a call back to the good old days. Perhaps same producer or someone who worked closely with first staff. Because it screams nostalgic effect. Rather like Gundam Seed... which is concerning because Seed started out nice, but then ended not so nice (That is even excluding Destiny, which everyone denies happened anyway... so on the same page there.)
But I am thinking this series will be fine. After all, we have awesome new character to enter. Kiriha. and I know I have to love him. He reeks of Digimon Emperor throwback. and I ADORED Ken! I think he ended up topping poor Matt in the end even. Something special about geniuses that can't help themselves and get raped I tell you.
yea, I'm sick. Get over it.
Well, until next time.
