Today's Reviews: RxJ and Fate/Stay Night

Title: Romeo x Juliet
DvD Count: 2
Episode Number: 12; 6 per disc
Total Run Time: 300

So, first I would like to say that this DvD package is quite lovely. The manga artwork on all of the DvD faces is wonderful and beautiful. Though I admit I'm confused by their choice to call this box set "Romeo Collection." There is nothing about this first half of the show that makes it more Romeo's than Juliet's. Infact, most of his development happens in the second half of the show :\

Anyway, the Cover is blue like Romers and made up of like...the 3 official pictures you can find on the Japanese site. Getting a good shot of it minus the flash was really hard...and the flash just made it reflect like a MOFO.

Next, the DvDs themselves~

Review: I of course watched this show in RAW form while it was being released last year. It is no less pretty than it was then. The original Japanese voice work is certainly amazing, but the Dub wasn't....awful! Despite their strange urge to write it mildly Shakespearean, it was only awkward sometimes, and most of the actors did a fairly decent job. Of especial note: Hermione. She had the potential to be SO unbelievably annoying, but she wasn't. She was actually kinda cute. And surprisingly...she's Anise. I wasn't sure at first, but I am now. She sounds really different but...yeah. I don't really recognize anyone else off the top of my head, which is a little odd for once.

The only qualm as far as Acting goes is Juliet. She's not quiet gentle and kind enough in her girl voice but other than that she does a good job switching back and forth. Her original voice was just so adorable T^T

Overall though, I am actually happy with the quality of the Dub. I will definitely be buying the second half.

Title: Fate/Stay Night
DvD Count: 6
Episode Number: 24; 4 per disc
Total Run Time: 600

The cover, again, was hard to get a good picture of and isn't a particularly good picture of Saber anyway. The color of her hair is weird, and she doesn't seem to blend at all.

Review:I wish the dub for this show didn't exist -_-; Harsh, I know, but it's true. Everyone over acts or just doesn't act at all, and Gil sounds like a total brain-dead moron. I have watched it through in Dub once and only for assessment purposes. My verdict: Never hit that 'English' option. Ever. The only voice I can kind of stand is Saber...and she's Naruto's Sakura.
