If there was one thing that annoyed Ryutarou to the max, then it was Christmas preparations. Every year, since he could remember, it had been the same.
His mother swore by making the right preparations. It made her busier and more snarky then ever.
She was stressed because the family would come over and she tried to make the house as neat as possible. The result was that she did nothing but running through the house all day, with a mop in her one hand and a sponge in the other, telling her children they weren’t allowed to make a mess.
As a silent answer to that, his father spent the entire two weeks before Christmas practically living in his office. Being the laid back man that he was, he wasn’t one to endure his wife’s cleaning antics and being busy with his job he could do nothing wrong because there was no mess he could create.
All this resulted in Ryutaro taking care of his younger siblings, making sure Shintarou wouldn’t eat his lego and that his sister wouldn’t try to set free their goldfish under the motto; fish also have rights!
As he grew older, the need to look out for his younger siblings became less, but it didn’t mean that his responsibly as the oldest of 3 also got less. Whenever one of the children (usually Shintarou) made a mess, he was still the one that had to deal with their mother, being told off and having to help her with the various preparations.
Yes, it was safe to say Ryutarou didn’t enjoy Christmas. It was busy, he was always working and his treasured relationship with his DSi got worse every day.
However, this year, Christmas wasn’t spend with his family and as he took a quick glance through the dressing room, he noted he was probably the only one who was actually quite relieved with the fact he could celebrate Christmas without them.
Contently he sat in his own little corner, making snarky little remarks so every now and then when his older members were fooling around or just simply being idiots. This Christmas would be one he could spend on his own, because usually his band mates would leave him alone when he wasn’t asking for their attention.
It was one of the few good things about being the youngest sometimes, they just disregarded his behavior as his age and that he was just trying to keep strong, now he had to spend Christmas away from his family.
Little did they know.
Ramming on the buttons of his game console, he felt a pat on his shoulder. Disturbed he looked up and he saw Yuri standing in front of him.
“Ditch the thing, little boy,” the older boy pointed towards the device in his hands, a playful smile ghosting on his lips.
All he got was a smirk in return, “you do realize our height difference is almost 10 CM in my advantage?”
Yuri shrugged, “you’re still younger.”
Ryutarou wanted to get into defense, when Yuri quickly snatched the DSi out of the younger boy’s hand and closed it. “Yuto!” His shrill voice sounded through the room and the tall boy looked up, a bit dazed.
Thank God he had fast reflexes, or else he would be hit in the face with a game device. Puzzled he looked at it, staring into the direction of where it came from.
“That’s mine!” Ryutarou whined, but before he could get it back, Yuri had already planted himself on his lap.
“Yuto~ can you take care of it for a bit?”
Sheepishly, Yuto nodded, placing the black device next to him, as he continued his conversation with Yabu about being tall and its pro’s and cons.
Ryutarou frowned, looking back at Yuri who now was snuggling against his chest.
“Must you?” he asked, slightly annoyed. There went his alone time.
“Yes,” the smaller boy grinned, burying his nose into the crook of Ryutarou’s neck, “you should feel happy, you can actually spend Christmas with your loved one.”
“I spend every single day with you,” Ryutarou answered dryly, still looking at his DSi with longing eyes, “besides, I thought I was finally able to get some rest this Christmas, I told you about how things go at my place, right?”
“You did,” Yuri mused, “and you are getting your rest. As long as you please me. And right now, pleasing me means letting me sit on your lap.”
“You’re like my mom,” the younger boy muttered, earning a slap from the other.
“Your mom doesn’t do this,” he said, slyly as he pecked the Ryutarou’s lips.
“She’d better not, I’m 15 now,” was the witty answer and again he got a slap on his arm.
“Can’t you be a little bit more romantic?”
“Can you give me my DSi back?”
“No.”
“Well, there you have your answer,” Ryutarou grinned.
Yuri rolled his eyes, “Ryu, it’s Christmas. And you know, when you’re a good boy when it’s Christmas…” Yuri’s voice trailed off and Ryutarou’s eyes lid up.
“I know, I know,” the younger boy shifted his body a bit, now taking the liberty of warping his long arms around Yuri’s smaller body and pulling it closer.
“Does that mean you’re going to act like you like it, for once?”
“Depends, do I get anything out of it?” The younger boy smirked and a playful smile appeared on Yuri’s lips.
“Depends, are we sharing a hotel room tonight?”
“I think I’m with Daiki again, but he wouldn’t mind swapping.”
Yuri raised an amused eyebrow, “I think you have your answer then.”
Ryutarou grinned, pecking Yuri back on the lips.
"You know," the smaller boy muttered against his lips, "I already asked Daiki to switch, I just wanted you to to promise me you would be a little romantic to me this Christmas."
Ryutarou blinked, "you prepared this?"
Yuri showed him a smug grin, one Ryutarou was quick to kiss away.
Okay, maybe Christmas maybe wasn’t so bad after all… With the right preparations.
