Slipping Away
He closed his eyes. It was good like this. For the first time in ages he felt as if everything would be alright.
As he felt the infinite black swallow him as a whole, he could hear a clear, desperate voice calling out his name.
“No! Yuya, not yet! Come back!”
No, it was time. ‘You are wrong,’ Yuya wanted to say. But he had already given up speaking a long time ago.
Slowly it turned colder, aside from that particular place on his body. He could not see anymore, but clear visions of entangled fingers, desperately clutching to one’s chest crossed his mind.
‘Let go Kouta, I’m done fighting dragons I can’t see.’
“Yu-Yuyan, you can’t leave me like this. I can’t live without you.”
‘Kouta, let go of my hand. I will pass. Thanks to you I had no unfinished business here on earth, don’t let me become yours.’
Favours
Lean and lanky, that was what one would say about his appearance. He leaned against a wall. Eyes prying at those who passed him, he casually placed a cigarette between his lips. He lighted it and took a few puffs, still grimacing at the bad taste spreading in his mouth.
He was the first one to admit smoking was bad and it didn’t even taste that good, but the nicotine did her work and made him crave for more as soon as he finished the first smoke stick of the day.
“Takayama-kun, smoking is bad for your health.”
The haughty appearance of Tagasugi Touichi appeared in front of him and he wrinkled his nose. The younger man did not only annoy him, with the way he walked and talked like he was the king of the world, it also made him feel- and he would be damned if he admitted to this- only for the slightest bit attracted to the top student.
Taking another puff he stared down, letting the feelings of annoyance take over, at the younger male who didn’t seemed to be as much bothered by the degrading look towards his height.
“So, what do you need this time? Fake robbery at the school, some fraud, reckless yankee behaviour towards innocent students so they will see what they’ll end up if things continue to go like this?”
The smaller of two smiled, his eye area wrinkling pleasantly. “Not really, I’m here to ask you a person favour.”
“Like what?”
“What are you doing tomorrow night?”
“Are you asking me out?”
“I might.”
A sly grin.
“Then I just might be free.”
