Wordprompt : Intoxicated

Hyunseung wasn't really sure of where he was anymore, all he knew was that the lights were blurring together and making the prettiest of colors. Though he couldn't really decide if this was a natural occurrence, or if he should be concerned. Was the world supposed to spin? He could barely hear himself think over the loud roar of what his tequila soaked mind presumed to be the party he should be leaving right now. Somewhere back in his mind, the functioning part of his brain was telling him to move his hammered ass toward the front door, but with the world on a severe tilt. He kept crashing into things like walls, and coffee tables, and tripping over those annoying little plastic cups at his feet. Hyunseung took refuge on a large, almost unoccupied couch that would have been red if every color he'd ever seen in his life hadn't been dotting his vision at annoyingly persistent intervals. It was mind numbingly soft and he snuggled into it almost instantly, ignoring the scent of sweat it emitted and numbing his senses to whatever the other smell was-no doubt something he could (and preferred) to live his whole life without identifying. He was quite content now, the spinning was slowing and the only color he could see was the black behind his eyelids. He was determined to also, push the incoherent conversations around him out of his mind and was doing a damn good job of it so far...

"My God, Hyunseung..." The auburn haired boy heard distinctly over the noise, a soft but stern voice calling to him, much to his discomfort. He didn't know why he'd heard this soft calling over the roar of the crowd until he realized he knew it. Hyunseung's brain worked for a moment, and felt like it should be able to identify the voice, but alcohol and fatigue had long since smothered out all of his reasoning ability. His body was reacting to this mystery voice though, as if on instinct to the tone and a groan slipped past his lips, feeling his heart speed and his body tense.

The world moved again then, the haven of the couch ripped away and replaced with something possessing much less give. He fought against it for a moment before that same voice spoke to him, stilling his movements instantly.

"Shhh..Hyunseung. Calm down.." it uttered in the most soothing tone Hyunseung had ever heard, and his body instantly complied without his mind's consent. He was instantly alarmed at this, but another coax from the voice and he relaxed completely, his body melting into the embrace around him, lulled to sleep by the strong heartbeat pressed against his ear. He didn't know what this was, but it was much more comforting than the couch, and somehow he felt a lot safer. He never wanted to leave this, and the intoxicated boy didn't even feel the shaky steps under what moved him, or the loud blasting from the party slowly fade into silence.

--

Hyunseung awoke with a start, surrounded by soft sheets and greeted by the most god-awful pounding in his temples. He moved to sit up, but quickly decided against it as the pain in his head pulled a savage groan from his throat. He snuggled back down into the covers around him, his nose taking in a scent foreign, but familiar. So far, it was the only good thing he could find about the morning. He screwed his eyes shut and feigned sleep again, trying to block out the evil sunlight falling in soft rays over his face. Where was he? How did he get here? And why was everything so goddamn bright?

The soft click of a door signaled a visitor into Hyunseung's personal Hell, and he groaned loudly as his curiosity prompted him to turn to see who it was. He shot the mystery person a hateful glare, wishing death on whoever the fuck dared to make him move, and mentally formulating countless ways to bring them to an untimely end.

"Good morning sunshine," the voice said in a heavily amused tone, chuckling softly and giving a light smile. The intruder held a tray, with things Hyunseung could easily put name to-one of which being a glass of ice water. Hyunseung had suddenly never been more thirsty in his life. As soon as his brown eyes fell on the face of his intruder however, his anger evaporated instantly and despite his current state, he offered a small weak smile in return.

"J-Junhyung..?" Hyunseung asked softly, almost uncertain if the other was really there. His mind had, after all, been flashing things in front of him last night, and it didn't help that he still wasn't completely certain of what was going on.

"Yeah, that's me," Junhyung replied at normal volume, setting down his tray on the bedside table with a dull clatter. Hyunseung moaned at the sudden noise and covered his head once again, attempting to dull the noise that, to him, was well above a bearable volume.

"Why the hell are you so loud?" He whined irritably into the pillow, the pounding in his head now moving slowly to his ears. "And why the fuck is everything so bright?"

"Well, that would be your hangover at it's finest...It'll go away sooner or later," Junhyung uttered softly, trying to dull the assault on the older's senses as much as possible. He pulled the covers back, gently tugging an extremely resistant Hyunseung to a sitting position against the headboard. In plain sight Hyunseung looked well past awful: his hair disheveled and sticking up towards the ceiling, his eyes held small purple circles under them and he was well past pale. "You look awful.." Junhyung frowned.

"Hangover...? How much did I drink?" Hyunseung asked, ignoring the comment about his appearance. He normally wasn't one for hangovers, so the fact that he had one this bad was definitely out of the ordinary, and probably caused by something he didn't normally consume at all-let alone in large quantities. He let his head rest back against the headboard and let out a long breath. Even he could tell he reeked of alcohol.

"I'm not sure...but if the empty bottle of tequila by your feet when I found you, is any indication..."

"You found me...?"

"Uh huh...You were laying on a couch, wasted in probably enough liquor to kill a small bear" Junhyung supplied easily, handing Hyunseung the glass of ice water and a few painkillers. "Drink this down." he said in a firm voice.

Hyunseung guzzled the water and downed the pills quickly as instructed. Stopping mid-gulp as his mind suddenly clicked together the fragments of his night. The voice. The warmth. That heartbeat. Junhyung. It had all been him. He choked on his water at the realization, causing the other the grab the empty cup immediately and set it down in alarm, staring wide-eyed and concerned at Hyunseung as he coughed wildly.

"Seung, Are you okay?" he asked when Hyunseung finally got his breath back. Instead of answering however, Hyunseung's body launched into the same involuntary reaction as it had the night before. His heart sped up again, fluttering wildly in his chest as his eyes locked with those of the male across from him, causing him to cast his own down. He groaned and leaned back against the headboard, not understanding in any sort of way, why his body did this to him. He figured it was his hangover messing with his body and that the sudden increase in his headache was due to all the alcohol in his system. After all, it had happened last night too.

"Yeah...I-I'm just...never drinking again." Hyunseung groaned in discomfort. Junhyung laughed at that, standing up from the edge of the bed, pressing a soft palm to Hyunseung's forehead, the other's body tensing, jolting instantly at the slight touch.

"You're a little warm...go take a shower. It'll make you feel better ne?" Junhyung said in his soft, yet firm and motherly tone as he pulled his hand back, moving towards the door, his hand resting on the knob as he pulled it closed behind him. "Besides, you smell like Doojoon's liquor cabinet"

Hyunseung stared at the closed door for a moment before moving slowly out of the bed to comply with Junhyung's order. He didn't understand though, why his forehead tingled slightly and a thick blush heated his face and neck. He blamed it on his hangover, along with the sudden light-headedness he blamed on his headache.

"I'm never drinking again..."

--

It had been a week since Hyunseung's hangover, and now he was confused. He couldn't blame it on the alcohol anymore. He felt sick constantly when Junhyung was around, with the same symptoms from his former predicament. It was different though, these symptoms weren't pain or discomfort. It was more of a fluttering in his stomach and chest whenever Junhyung called to him. He had a voice that could cut through anything, even Yoseob's babbling fits and music loud enough to blow your eardrums-even though his voice barely raised above his normal slight-lisped speech. It was more of a heating in every part of his body when Junhyung held his gaze and an electric shock whenever they touched-no matter how small the look, or light the brush. It was more of a light-headed feeling whenever he was in a place that smelled of him, or an urge to wrap himself in the warmth of his body whenever he was near.

Hyunseung didn't understand it, couldn't wrap his mind around the infatuation he had with Junhyung's utter being. He paced around the living room of his own apartment thinking of all the logical explanations he could come up with as he waited for his friends to arrive. He didn't understand or know when the nervousness he felt when Junhyung was near, had become accompanied by a rush, an overwhelming feeling he couldn't describe, one that took his breath away and caused him to blush and stutter whenever Junhyung looked at him, talked to him, or touched him...it made him tense.

"Yo! I rounded 'em all up! You got the snacks right?" Yoseob called as he pushed unceremoniously through Hyunseung's unlocked front door, knocking Hyunseung from his thoughts, waving his hands around and shaking up the bottles of soda he had clutched in each of them. Doojoon followed close behind fanning DVD's in Hyunseung's vision and laughing at something Dongwoon said as he made way for the DVD player. Gi Kwang moved around Dongwoon and Doojoon as fast as possible, complaining loudly at Yoseob about shaking the soda as the blonde went to work finding the snacks in Hyunseung's cabinets. Junhyung was last into the house, closing the door behind him and smiling widely at the scene playing in front of him as he made way for the couch.

"I think they shot whatever quiet moment you were having," He said with a laugh that was music to Hyunseung's ears.

"Don't they always?" Hyunseung managed to choke back, feeling his face heat up. There it was again, that rush, that light-headed nervous feeling. That intoxication. Hyunseung's mind froze on that word. Didn't he say he wasn't going to drink again? But Junhyung wasn't alcohol. So why was it that Hyunseung's mind was positively swimming in feelings. That he wanted Junhyung near him, loved everything about him and everything having to do with him.

Loved him.

Hyunseung's eyes widened, his lips parting as suddenly the loud of the room, faded into the back of his mind...

What did he just say?

A/N: the endd.  I'm not sure if the writing or plot was that good, but it was very fun to write! Comments are <3
