Summary - Months after Rose was left in a parallel universe with her mum and dad, Rose has finally in some capacity moved on from the Doctor. Now, as the winter months roll into the British countryside where her new home resides, Rose and her family celebrate their first Christmas and New Years together.

I think this was one of the strongest chapters you have written to date. It is a love poem pure and simple. I love the imagery of Rose joyfully dancing to begin her day. The Doctor walking in on her joyous celebration would be able to do nothing other than share in it. Their love making was so passionate, open, and euphoric.

Yet the Doctor still doubts and beats himself up as you put it so well here:
He would guard her until his dying day, but no matter how much Rose told him otherwise he still felt like he wasn't worthy of her affections. Sometimes he felt like a dirty old man seducing his way into her bedroom. Sometimes it was hard to look at himself in the mirror without the words 'guilty' or 'wrong' painted on his skin like a tattoo that could never be removed no matter how hard he would try to scrape it off.

I am so glad he is able to move on from his fears and celebrate everything Rose freely offers him:
There were no more painful images and there were no more ear blistering howls of pain. Just the image of the radiant

After only a month with Rose, Nine is ready to get married to her. He almost died and lost her, so he doesn't want to waste anymore time. He wants to start really living his life. Also, I made the proposal scene something intimate and very simple. I was going to plan on making it bigger, but that's not Nine and Rose's style. Nine and Rose were all about making the small things seem epic. And plus, it seems so Nine-like to just cut down to brass tax and simplify everything.

Well, Rose is definitely going to be more than shocked about the marriage proposal. She wasn't expecting that at all! Let's see where that takes us.

You are right that Nine would grab his second chance with Rose with both hands. He will never take her for granted again. It seems that both of them have come alive in different ways. They are so good for each other!

I thought the proposal was just right. Nine is all about heart and not about flash.
