God... you are going to be making bank when you get out of school. I wish I had chosen a similarly lucrative track.

I want to take german, but I'm always afraid that I'm too old to learn a new language. I read all that stuff about 5 year olds being fluent in Japanese and I think, "Well, it's obviously too late for me."

Argh! Four languages! I am pathetic. Talk to me in french sometime so I can see if I remember any of the 5 years I took of it.

Make bank - what a term! My only goal is to eat but now it looks as if I'll be able to do better than that now, praise be.

It's never too late to learn a language, but it requires persistence and dedication. If you were to approach it like a hobby and study only sporadically it would be exceedingly difficult to reach any degree of fluency. At this stage of the game, you pretty much have to be constantly exposed to the language in order to learn it, so my best advice: looks like it's time for you to study abroad!

Ok, I would just like to let you UK punks know how ridiculously lucky you are. Next semester I am taking Music Literature, Woodwind Pedagogy, Music Theory, Ear Training/Sight Singing, University Choir, Orchestra, Bassoon Masterclass, Reeds, Orchestral Excerpts, Major Lesson, Piano, and Film Literature. That's 12 CLASSES, for 17 credit hours because Ball State likes to screw its students up the ass, particularly those of us in the music school.

Just thought I would let you know.

HI. Pedagogy (the word) makes me laugh which illustrates my resounding ignorance in the field.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I had to count the number of classes I was taking at least three times to make sure I had it right, whereas I imagine any normal person, such as yourself, could easily count to twelve in one try.
