Has anyone else felt this absolutely tormented about something as simple as setting up a moustrap? I heard squeaking just a few minutes ago and thinking one had snapped on one of my sweet, little baby mice I instantaneously burst into tears. It was just my neighbor's dog chewing a squeak toy. Is there something wrong with me?

Last year when I lived at American House we tried to do the nice mouse traps that don't kill the mouse. They didn't work very well at all. So I put poison out. I think the poison is the kindest way to kill them. They eat a bunch; it sits in their stomach doing nothing until they drink water. Then very quickly the mouse gets sleepy and dies.

Remember if you use poison, make sure to put the boxes in places where your cat can't get to them.

I admired you from afar discussing this dilemma with foreign people (maybe)?

I think of them as babies, but the sad fact is they carry disease and I don't want to be responsible for making my cat or fellow tenants sick. That said, I did take up the snappy traps because my nerves/heart couldn't handle it and I haven't seen anymore since then and if I do I'm just gonna chase them around, catch them and put them back outside (because my cat is also too nice to catch them). Sigh.
