I am not going to use Wiki for once, so tell me: Who is Howard Zinn?

He is a historian who taught in the south during the civil rights movement and participated/encouraged his students to petition without violence and he wrote a number of books, one being the people's history of the united states and is mentioned in good will hunting because it is really so true it tells you everything you don't learn in school.
aka he is mr bennett's favorite and i learned about him through mr bennett's class
