- Bought a copy of Toast 8 for the mac. I'm not 100% sure why I bought it, other than I generally buy CD\DVD burning software (it does have some uses), and got a fairly hefty discount for it (£25) from Amazon and a magazine code. New media streamer in town...
Slim devices, makers of the 'Squeezebox' media streamer, have announced a new network media streamer - the Transporter.
The price is rather steep, at just shy of $2k, but does apparently contain audiophile-grade components - whether that makes a difference is down to you. But I figure if you're streaming Mp3s and the like to it, any benefit in ( Read more... ) -

Regarding work, and future projects...
My manager asks, via email, how much time I can allocate to a new software project coming up. So I figure, working out what my workload is currently, and is likely to be over the next few weeks\months, and roughly estimating that I can allocate 3 to 4 days to work on this. His response:
