Younger Son has been working his way through the Harry Potter books since 4th grade. It's taken him about two years, but he's managed to (as of Saturday), read all seven of the books. He was determined to finish DH before HP7.2 comes out in July. He's proud that, for the first time ever, he'll be able to watch one of the HP movies and know what ( Read more... )

From the sound of things in Joplin, your friend and his family are among the lucky ones. What a disaster there. *shakes head*

Yeah. They took shelter in a neighbor's basement. My friend doubts they'd be alive today if they hadn't. He's posted pics of what's left of his neighborhood on FB. The destruction is unbelievable.

I KNOW!!

As often as I've tried to convince the boys to see the movies and books as separate stories, there are still certain things from the book that I'm looking for in HP7.2. Chief among them is Molly's "Not my daughter you BITCH!!" I need that line. I LOL'd when I read it in the book. It was such a great line in the midst off such a furious battle. I'm also hoping they don't completely butcher Harry's taunting of Voldemort in their final faceoff. The chapter called "The Flaw in the Plan" from DH has got to be my favorite chapter in the whole series of books.

Still sucks though *kicks*

I notice a lot of the things that are missing (or added) in the movies, but it usually doesn't bother me too much. When I first saw OotP and Harry's Christmas at Grimmauld passed without him getting the mirror, I remember thinking, "Hello? Mirror?" But then I let it go. Then the first DH movie comes along and there's Harry with a piece of broken mirror and all I could think was, "Idiots ( ... )
