Damn Easter Bunny

Ugh, now that my kids are getting older and interacting with more kids their own age...going to school, etc. Easter, Christmas, and losing baby teeth has become a huge pain in the ass.  I WILL NOT encourage my children to lie...I WILL NOT tell my children that the fact that the Easter bunny is just a story is "our little secret"... and I don't care ( Read more... )

I'd be really pissed off if your not wanting it for your child ended up wrecking my wanting it for my own. If you think your daughter is old enough and you don't want her to think it's real, tell her that other people believe what they want and to not tell them.

And btw - my son knows Santa, and the Easter bunny, and zomg, he still knows that the truth is good. I hate judgements about petty things.

When he was in grade 1, he found out the truth from an older boy, who told him because he wanted to make him feel bad (the kid had been bullying him since the year before). Ryan got really angry at my parents for "lying" to him about Santa. He went to school and told all of the kids in his class that their parents were lying to them and that Santa wasn't real. He didn't do it because he wanted to hurt the kids' feelings, he did it because he genuinely believed that he'd been lied to and that the other kids deserved to know the truth. Ryan got into a lot of trouble with ( ... )
