March birthdays

We went up to the Bay Area to do the birthday celebration thing with my parents and my brother and his wife. On the way to and from, we were taking pictures of the snow on the hills, as there were snow even on the Salinas foothills that we can see outside our house

I felt really bad when I read that when you attend family events, more often than not, folks end up bringing out the worst in each other, and you usually leave the gatherings with hard feelings. :[ I'm sorry you feel that way. Hopefully, tho, there are always GOOD aspects of the events that help balance out the bad aspects.

I'm such an idealistic fool that I always think everyone's family is full of warm fuzzies and hugs and always get along with each other. Which is odd because my own personal experience has shot down some of my own ideals. :( There are unfortunately a few members of my family who are quite dysfunctional, and I've had to comes to terms with the fact that even if you love people, you don't always like them 100% of the time, and you certainly don't always agree with them. I've also learned that there are some longtime family FRIENDS whom I love as much as if they were blood relations. :)
