This was a brilliantly written and well-earned moment for our favorite trio, and - perhaps unlike the show - completely consistent with the characterizations you have developed.

Would it be selfish of me to wish that you don’t discover another fandom for a long time yet? I have fallen madly in love with your Aramis, Porthos, Athos, and Treville. Thank you for continuing to share their stories with us, and, as always, I eagerly await your next installment.

I'm sorry this is *such* a late reply, honey, but I'm really glad you enjoyed this part (a long time ago now!). I don't think I can ever return to the programme, because I finally did work out why I was eventually so angry with it and it turned out to be something so fundamental I can't get around it, but nor do I seem to have strayed to another fandom. *shrug* I kept writing Glee despite hating it and not watching it for years, so I guess I'm stuck here a while yet ;)

So thank you for putting up with me while I *am* obsessed at least, and thank you for reading, honey - thank you! <3

I was without internet for several months and nothing will bring me more joy than getting online for a long weekend to find so many updates. And since my time in the Glee fandom spoiled me, I kind of made PDFs of all of your Musketeer fics. I had a lot of time on my hands. I wanted to know if that's something you'd want to share with people or if I should make sure they never see the light of day?

This was posted *so* long ago that I don't know if you'll even see this reply at this point, I'm so sorry, my summer just got entirely eaten by illness. But if you ever do see this, I'm very honoured you took the time to make PDFs, and I'd be happy to link to them for people who do prefer reading from PDFs. But mostly thank you for reading, honey - thank you! <3

I've always thought that first season moment, with Aramis and Marsac and Athos' line: "If it is true, what then?" was a nod to this same realisation. The idea that at some point in the years since everything that had happened Athos had had this thought - what if she was telling the truth? - and the associated breakdown was what took him past his woe-is-me and into the need to do something to make amends. That he was warning Aramis that maybe he didn't want to follow that rabbit down the hole, when it might lead to realisations that would shake his world view.

Obviously the show decided that wasn't where they were going with Athos and Milady (for fucks sake) but I think I held on to that thought. That at some point he'd at least *considered* it from her point of view.

This was a heart-shaking moment in the fic for Athos and Aramis, you've done it beautifully as always, and I look forward to more. :)

Incredibly late reply, but yeah, The Good Soldier stands out as this ugly blot you just can't get around in that series; 'all for one, but not for you'. All Athos meant by that line, apparently, was that their current situation in the garrison under Treville had worked out for them all so far and Aramis should think about whether he really wanted to upset it or not, because he and Porthos weren't willing to, and the most they were willing to offer Aramis was that they wouldn't go out of their way to *stop* him. I really do like that in this universe I get to rerun a lot of the characters' decisions so they can make *better* ones -_-;

On that note: I really ought to finish this verse ^^; But I'm glad you liked it, way back when honey - sorry I've been so long replying, but thank you for reading! <3

Rainjoy, I am in awe. You wrote two such moving confrontations, poor Aramis working up his nerve to wound Athos, and Porthos, finally confronting Athos about leaving their circle. They are all so frightened, but so brave. I have loved doing this re-read, I was able to really string all of the wonderful pieces together. It has made me appreciate your great talent even more. ( Not to mention the mpreg, and the exorcist adventures.) I have thought of you often throughout, I am sending you all the positive energy and thoughts possible. I pray that your health and your strength improve, and that you can get on with your life. Thank you.

I discovered your stories several weeks ago, beginning with Wolf Moon, and I've been completely enchanted ever since. I adore the affinity verse as well as the other universes. Affinity Aramis is adorable and the relationships are so intricate and well-written. You're an incredibly talented writer and creator. I'm extremely happy to have stumbled across your stories and I can't wait to read more plus reread everything I've already read! Thank you for sharing your stories!!!

Believe it or not this is not the longest I've ever taken to reply to comment, but I'm still really sorry ^^; But I'm really glad you've been enjoying the fic, honey - thank you for coming to read it and letting me know you've liked it, thank you! <3
