THIS IS SO UGLY AND SLOW AND UGLY. Not to mention the real issues: in only one night, someone was triggered like whoa because no subject lines

I went with a generic Expressive layout so far and I don't like how they look that much. It's too much effort to learn how to change what bothers me in the CSS...
Guess it depends on the fandom circles. For kink and anon memes, or comms with particular formats, no subject lines is the death to them. They had announced this change like a week ago and a lot of people whined, but LJ didn't give a shit. But yeah, if you just use normal comms, it shouldn't matter much to you.
I'm not affected by the subjects, but I actually had the default comment page as my ?style=mine things BECAUSE it looked better to read to me than anything with CSS galore. So now I had to read/comment shit with Facebook Lite everywhere and I'm really pissed about changing my layout for my mole necessities.
There was already a Browse option already (no idea if it was only for paid users, but you are one so it doesn't matter) that showed all the icons, and you could even search keywords. Now you can't see the keywords at all, or just quickly pick a particular one in a hurry/moment of computer slowness without loading everything. Maybe it's my computer scientist's deformación profesional, but this feature + the usual dropdown menu were more efficient and nicer to me than the new shtick.
I think I'd be ok with the changes it if they'd just left the freaking subject lines alone! I don't get why they thought taking them out was a good idea.
Supposedly, according to the guy who coded the changes, most of the accounts don't use them. Well duh, they're not really a personal journal thing, it's something more for comms and anons. So yeah, moronic.
Agreed, the new changes are all kinds of do not want. So ugly, and how on earth did they think it was a good idea to remove the subjects lines? I doubt that anyone complained about them in the first place. Let's hope that those one hundred pages of complaints will make them reconsider things.
The change was announced like a week ago and said to be non-negotiable. Everyone complained in advance and asked them not to implement it with the reasons, and of course they didn't listen to the outrage and did it anyway. So it's an even bigger fail.
Yes, their attitude so far is what is most irritating. I'm almost tempted to starting using my DW account more regularly and go back to having a basic account on LJ instead of a paid one, but I think I want to wait and find out how they decide to handle this first.
At first I didn't have any idea what people were talking about until I clicked on a few comms that still used default comment pages. What I saw was hideous.
I know for personal journals, the subject line or even thread/parent posts aren't too heartbreaking, but what happened to my comment previews? I fuck up on html so much I NEED IT BACK.
