My "Loki feels", I guess

Jun 15, 2012 14:09

In the end, I'm too much of a coward to post any of this on Tumblr. The Hiddleston fangirls would eat me alive! Plus it's awful etiquette to tag stuff that is not entirely positive/fannish.

So here we go.

About movie Loki, assume there are spoilers of Thor and The Avengers )

marvel movies, rants

This is awesome. I don't get the Loki love or the fandom need to ship him with everyone. Misunderstood or not when you look at what he did to Clint and Eric Solvang and he loses the right to poor baby in my opinion.

Villain worship is general makes me go wtf? Someone who would kill you without a second thought is not cool, he/she is scary and you lack self preservation skills.

And that's the least he did. As for the villain thing, it's a matter of preference. A lot of people prefer the mean guys over the goody-shoes because they're more fun, so liking Loki despite/because of the stuff he's done is not what puts me off. I've liked (or loved to hate) a couple of good villains sometimes. The problem is when the fanbrats ignore the fact it's a bad guy or think they could redeem him with the power of love and kittens.

I get the whole liking bad boys thing and I love a good villain since without one you have only half a story at best, but I think working psych and having actually see what people do to each other has given me a different pov on the whole thing.

He would manipulate and use the love and do horrible things to the kittens. Maybe it is the fantasy vs reality thing or a desire to be the special one who can bring about redemption. To me it reeks of the woman who marries an abusive alcoholic because he just needs someone to believe in him so he will change.

The fandom turns me off Hiddloki, at least beyond the jokes.

TBH this is... kind of the point I'm reaching, too. I mean, I like Hiddleston himself well enough and I like great puns about Loki being burdened with glorious purses, but I also tend to burnout on stuff easily (with a few exceptions) and I'm following a few people who hit the woobiecakes hard.

(There's also the fact that after seeing Avengers a second time last weekend I realized how much he prefers to see stuff distorted, and that's a trait he shares with some relatives I constantly want to punch, so that probably amplified my burnout.)

I honestly think this is good legit meta and I wanted to say "no you could totally post it on Tumblr" but then I remembered that there are Hiddloki fans who think it's a good idea to mass-tweet "HEHEHEHE" at him next week. I like you and I don't want to see you eaten alive.

Oh! i didn't understood why the people was so thrilled with the Avengers, the movie was funny and entertaining but that's all. Maybe it's because i don't like too much the movies about comics... i enjoy them but... oooh, i have serious issues with that XD. The point was that even if i love the comics, Thor specially, it didn't thrill me.

About Odin... weeez, i'm happy most of the fangirrls haven't read the comics. And about Loki, i don't buy the "misunderstood baby", yeap, they were mean to Loki, but that doesn't give him the right to be a completely asshole, the other Loki... uhm, i like him XD, but sometimes the people forget that he represents something, like Thor represents the savior of the earth, mighty, powerful, handsome, always doing the right things, lalala~ Loki is the chaos and the mischief, which are normally attached to evil, (i don't agree with it), so why do they spec a straight, logic, nice, lovely person from the god of chaos?

Ugh, yes. I was originally considering working on a cosplay just because I liked his outfit (seemed like it'd be fun to wear, could not wear a wig and only get called "lazy" by the most extreme Must Be 100% Accurate people, ...). And then he was all over the internet, suddenly, and just not interesting enough to be so everywhere, and so, so many willful misreadings.
