Number 1 is completely Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Backed into that book many years ago after reading One during a high school phase of experimental non-existence.

I know the author of Number 6, but I'm not sure which book. Also, recognized Number 4, but I had to look it up, so I'll let someone else get it.

Well done! Particularly on number four. Would you have gotten it if I only put in the first line? I went back and forth on that a bit.

Speaking of Bach, what did you think of "One," and did you also back into "Illusions?"

Didn't go back to Illusions, but I don't remember why. I remember how earth shattering both Jonathan Livingston Seagull and One were to my world at the time. I guess the next earth shattering thing just came and shook the rest of the stuff to the back burner.

As for #4, I don't know if I would have gotten it without a couple sentences. Ironically, it was the second sentence that was important.

I really liked "Illusions" when I read it in junior high but am not sure I'd like it as much if I re-read today.

Many of those quotes look super familiar, but I just can't place them!

It was very important in my life through most of college, but after I started exploring Zen Buddhism, I kind of moved on from it. I did like "One" when I read it later though.

I figure if there are some that nobody gets after a while, I'll add a sentence or two to see if that helps. Or I could give some hints.
