By no means exhaustive, whatever's floating around my mind right now.
1. Snow. It's snowing right now! Not even wet blobs of melt, an actual decent sticking. Winter= joy.
2. Pumpkin pie. My mom's pumpkin pie would beat yours in mud wrestling. And would still taste good afterwards.
3. Frangelico. Hazelnut liquor that comes in a bottle shaped like a monk complete with a little rope tied around the waist, and just breathing it tastes good. Also, the fact that I have a mother that encourages me to drink. As you can see, my mind is rather focused on physically gratutious type thanks right now.
4. My family. I know so many people with fucked up families, and some how I've ended up being born to these two awesome people who actually care about me but give me plenty of space to grow up.
5. And of course, friends and all sorts of people who somehow give a damn about me and are more dependably awesome than the world has dependable crap .
6. Apple Pie Day will soon be followed by cookie day. Best two month period of the year.
7. Thick hats and pinked cheeks.
8. Warmth inside and cold outside.
9. Cello. And ballet. My parents have always managed to provide art lessons one way or another, and taking private cello lessons this past year has been fantastic. I lucked out on my teacher. Private lessons with people you aren't comfortable with are the pits.
10. Old favorite books. No books are favorites like books from your childhood.
11. The job my Dad got this year at Catholic Relief Services. It's actually a stable job with better pay even though it's a nonprofit, and I don't think he's had a job he hasn't had to worry about stopping existing since before I was born.
12. The lift of stress from my household.
13. I've travelled thousands of miles for two summers in a row now, and I'm sure I'll get to again one of these years.
14. I get to go to Carver. High school is high school and will always have its faults that way, but I'm still grateful that I get to choose to attend a school has good classes and at least a few people who think like me.
15. This city. "Gloriously decrepit," I heard it described once. It grows with me like a wool glove acquires the shape of your hand.
16. I don't need much in my life, but I've always been given much more than I deserve in people and things and opportunity. I guess this is just my moment of general basking in my lucky lot in life.
17. I have a lot of power in my hands right now to do whatever I want with my life. Some people get stressed out and alarmed cause they don't know what to do with it, but mechanics and details are beside the point. 16 is about possibilty.
18. Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
