The Christian religion and it's rapid historical expanision can be accredited to a number of interesting factors. One, the pervasive and overly zealous way in which the early constituency of the faith conducted their conversions, secondly, the population growth of Western Europe after the eradication of many deadly diseases, the end of the Hundred Year's war, and the European colonization of the Western Hemisphere, whereas the pervaders of Judaism were highly isolated, in a land which was occupied first by the rapidly declining Roman Empire, later by the barbaric Canaanites and finally, after 1453, by the Ottoman turks from the north, thereby stifling any attempt at further expansion of the religion ( ... )

Think about modern day Jerusalem, and the Western Wall. Many Islam, Christan and Jewish people gather here and co-exist peacefully. To shop, to eat, to socialize. That even seems strange considering the Israel/Palestine conflict that we are all so well versed with. I agree fully with the Islam tradition being used like Christianity was in the middle ages, as a weapon mostly, to control all of their followers in their areas of the world ( ... )

See, I'm the opposite. I like to make sense of who and what I believe in. That's why I don't have heros. I know that if I put faith in a person their still human, so they're probably going to do or say something that I disagree with and that would be horrible. There are people that I like of course, but I don't idolize anyone. Same with religion. I don't like putting faith into something that has the potential to break my heart.

But I totally think it rocks that so many people have the courage that I do not. That's why when I wrote this, i made a mention of how I'm not getting down on any particular belief system, I'm just trying to further my understanding. I want to know what it is that I believe.
