Pairing: Subassan
Rating: PG
Summary: Drabbles kind of connected to each other, but can stand alone as well.
Disclaimer: As much as I want to, they're not mine.

Achromatic

Seconds grow into minutes, and minutes grow into hours. Subaru counts them, of course, not that he likes to, it's just that it's too painful not to. He closes his eyes and waits. The time flies by without colour, and no matter how many memories he tries to paint, none withstand the pain growing inside of him. Without Yasu in his arms, he just can't see straight; not like he could before. And without Yasu, a rainbow is no different from lifeless concrete, no better than a pageless book, and no more beautiful than an empty heart. So he waits.

Walking

His steps feel heavy, as he walks under the starless sky. Yasu clenches his fist and feels the cold seep in. He realizes how much colder it has become without a hand holding his. His eyelashes flutter when the frigid evening twilight breeze blows at his lachrymose face. He curses under his breath, and bites his lower lip. He wants to come back, and be in Subaru’s warm embrace again. It was his mistake to begin with. He longs for that forgiving smile on Subaru’s face-a lopsided grin just asking to be kissed. He feels somewhat lightheaded.

Open

The door opens, bringing the morning light shining in the dark room. Subaru blinks blearily, and rubs at his eyes. His eyes have been closed for hours, but he has yet gotten a wink of sleep. The door closes soundlessly. He decides to ignore it, until a faceful of blue cloth blocks his sight.

“I’m home,”

Yasu rests his head on Subaru’s lap nonchalantly. Subaru is too blissful to even ask why the other man is wearing his Eito Rangers costume. He bends down quite awkwardly to kiss him on the lips.

“Welcome back,” he responds. “I missed you.”

Epilogue:

Bias

Ohkura pouts helplessly at him with eyes just begging for some delicious high-grade meat. Yasu looks to his other side, and sees Subaru with his eyes closed, waiting for Yasu to feed him the succulent beef.

“I’m waiting,” Subaru says impatiently.

Yasu rolls his eyes, and feeds it to Ohkura, who happily accepts it. He feeds himself, too, because it’s such a waste to give it to a selfish boyfriend. Subaru grunts, and takes a bite from the beef dangling on Yasu’s lips, and subsequently kisses him. He kisses him back.

“Revenge is juicy,” he says a little errantly.
