a laundry chute and/or elevator with which to solve mysteries.
We used to have one of those (a laundry chute) and my cat always went down it.
Maybe she was solving mysteries and we didn't even know it!

that is bizarre! I imagine strange yowling noises coming from the walls and the confusion that would follow.
it just seems like such fun to me.
