So, with the holidays wrapping up, everything is slowely going "back to normal." Anastacia goes back to school on Tuesday, Doug is working in the office right now, and probably traveling next week.  The semester is right around the corner and I'm working hard on my German.

Today I had Anastacia's parent-teacher conference.  Basically, she is a very bright student and is working on a high level (nothing we didn't already know, right?)  They took a standardized test (already *cringe*) and she scored scary-high.

We are surviving down here in sunny Austin, but things have definitly been insane.  For the past few weeks, Anastacia and I are both riding the cold/allergy roller-coaster.  You know, the one where you feel like crap for two days, and then better for two, then back to crap?  Which means the work has been accumulating around here.  The house looks ( Read more... )

WOOHOO!!! Isn't it scarry when 8:30 is considered sleeping in?  Anastacia woke up at 6:15 and wanted breakfast, and somehow I convinced her to go back to sleep for a little bit.  But a few hours later and everyone was up.  The cat wanted to get fed (hmmmm.  I wonder if i can teach her to open the cat food can, the way Anastacia can open her juice ( Read more... )

So the last week has been INSANE:

1.  Anastacia started Kindergarten.  The first day was rough, but we have begun the healing process.  She is excited to be there, likes eating lunch with the other kids, and has made a new friend.  She wants to ride her bike to school, and back home so that "(and this is a direct quote) she dosen't litter the air ( Read more... )

Sooooo, after oversleeping by two hours (so cannot do that next week...) I whipped up some cinnamin muffins... oops, I mean breakfast cookies.  Unfortunately, I over-filled the mini-muffin cups, which means I put the right amount in instead of just a little bit, and the puffed up to actually muffin dimensions....
