you might also have to tell your conspiracy theory mind that admissions offices are shite, unorganzied, shite, and doubly unorganized. they were prolly just slackers who dont know how to follow deadlines.

or they could have it out for you, whatev...

"they knew I had to commit to a program, so they sent me my acceptance letter just so that they could justify cashing my check."

thats an interesting way to look at it. Id go for wash. meself, but then Ive wanted to live in wash. for awhile now. glad you have a couple options though. go you!

Yeah--I was being overly pessimistic :). I guess the crappy thing was that I needed to have a full application by March 1st in order to be considered for a TAship. I sent my application out on February 1st or thereabouts, and they called me March 6th to tell me that they never got the rest of my application. So--either way, if I hadn't already had to commit to Minnesota by April 15th, I would have been a little effed over for a TAship.

BUT! You're right :). It's good to have options, and I'm flattered they want me (though the pessimistic part of my brain is telling me that my application is still "lost" and they never actually read my work... ;).) And yes, I totally wanted to live in Washington, too. Skiing, rivers....prettyprettypretty. Oh well.
