Loved that post - very passionate, evocative and honest!I liked Rang de Basanti for the same reasons as you - for its celebartion of that rebellious spirit of the youth that gets stifled up too easy by careers and monetary success! Will wait for your observations on the quota system which from what little I gather is a bit ridiculous - surely admission should be based on merit alone and something is needs done should be done at a grassroots level!
God, my previous comment is full of typos! Sorry! Was talking to Tuni this morning and she said that the protest march in Cal has been postponed due to poor attendance!
The quota system is ridiculous and a unfair method of promoting political interests, but that is a matter of greater debate and best left for the radicals. The passion and grit of the Indian would always be there, regardless of quotas and reservations. Its the spirit that has been eulogised in poetry, art and cinema. Loved the post....kudos to the spirit of youth........cheers:)
Thank you, i have added you back. Have not gone through all of it, but from the glimpses i had of your journal, it seems to be a really interesting pandora's box.
