I have absolutely nothing to say that will help. But I hate seeing a post like this with no comments because I know that sometimes it can feel like nobody read it and nobody cares. When really, nobody knows what to say.
I hesitate to suggest it, but have you thought about grief counselling? I only mention it because you sound confused and bewildered (understandably so!) and maybe they could help you with your own expectations of what to do or to expect. Or maybe just give you someone to talk to who genuinely understands? If that idea offends you, forget I mentioned it.
Anything we can do (even just babysitting if you need some time out) give us a yell.
