I love "The Absinthe Drinker" too. I also love "99 Luftballoons" but I can never stop NS from changing the channel every time it comes on the radio. I think I managed to finish "Ulysses" but I was sixteen, so it didn't really take-- but I know what you mean. If I had to pick one book that opened up a whole new conceptual world to me the way Ulysses did for you, it would be "Waterland" by Graham Swift. I will have to re-watch the Coen Bros. movies. I remember enjoying them.
