I would just like to register my annoyance with myself: I am sitting here on Sunday afternoon, cheerfully watching football, vacantly shoving flour tortillas and salsa into my mouth and drinking a nice Cape Cod (ahh) when it occurs to me to idly check the nutrition facts on the tortilla packet. As someone whose gym weight scale recently told her she's got a BMI of 30, I can sympathize. Personally, I blame the FDA for requiring this info be printed on our food. Yes, because if they hadn't published the caloric value of the tortillas, their actual value would've been much less. Yep, that's how it works.

Science has largely neglected the Guilt Index as a factor in body mass; it's been proven (empirically) that a daily Guilt Index of above 200 (one point per illicit calorie), if sustained at that level for over two days, actually increases your weight by 5% each day.
