But why do you need a loan? Its a bad idea to start off life already in the hole. And credit cards aren't status symbols, even the platinum ones, so think twice about using one. You should get one (to build your credit), but use it sparingly. Its easier to keep good credit than it is to rebuild it once you spoil it.
You probably don't want to hear this, but you need to understand adult world, since you're going to be 18 shortly: Your dad has the right to do what he wants to do with the money he earns. Mismanaged or not, that is his to do with.
Now that you are an adult, its your responsibilty to feed, clothe and provide for yourself. If he extends you the courtesy of living there with him while you're an adult, its just that: a courtesy. Its not his duty to feed you or to make sure that you are comfortable, so you shouldn't expect it. YOU deterine your fate. ( ... )
