--doesn't make sense. I know this isn't happening--

[Video clicks on, and for a moment, you just get a flash of Jim's palm. Then he moves a little way away, and for the first time in Barge history, the adult Jim Profit appears on the screen. He's sat on the floor of his room, the only visible light coming from the glare of his communicator.

[He's not been too pleased since the threat of scalding water to the face, but there's something very wrong with this. This is above and beyond what Sveta should be doing.]

Can you be brought to the infirmary? [Because he can't leave.]

[It's not exactly that Jim doesn't hear you, his head turns slightly at the sound of The Doctor's voice, but the words don't mesh with the reality he's currently ensconced in , so he doesn't respond. Just keeps right on staring.]

Jim... listen very carefully. What is it that you see?

Walls. Floor. Ceiling. TV.

[Ah, something in that is familiar! Hearing his name causes Jim to glance up, looking out into the rest of his room for whoever's talking to him.]

Huh?

[Pause]

Don't know. I see the room? TV?

[He trails off there, and his eyes wander back towards the communicator.]

[Jim looks up again, more sharply this time.]

Who's asking?

[His voice is a lot quieter now, because if you're not dad, then he probably shouldn't be talking to you.]

[He's still picking up on people saying his name, but he's not picking up on the fact that it's coming out of the communicator, so he looks up, into the darkness around him.]

Hmm?
