I see your point, although I've never watched the TV-movie in its entirety a second time. I tried giving it another chance a few months ago and went to sleep about halfway through. I should do so, I suppose, just for the sake of my fandom, although I remember the romance angle in that was a little jarring for me as well.

I guess Eccleston and Tennant just seem so much like Baker, Davison, etc., in general demeanor to me that I still think of them as basically the same personality.
