you said it sister! Scary that there are women in this world so ready to give up their right to freedom of choice (and yet feel ok about sending our children to be killed in a senseless war).

Yeah.. for some reason embryos have more of a right-to-life than 18 year olds do. Who's afraid to die more? An 8 day old zygote with no developed consciousness or some poor kid entering the service to pay for college? Besides, women have a right to their *own* bodies & health~

i for one am disappointed this personhood amendment didn't go through. i was totally relying on it to back up my bill i'm writing to lower the embryonic drinking age.

oh well, since it's been defeated, we can say that Kristi Burton of Peyton, CO is personally accountable for every future aborted fetus in her state. i think people should inform her of this.

On a positive note, Californians did vote to make sure egg-laying chickens weren't kept in cages that are too cramped.

Gotta have priorities, ya know....

I gotta say - allowing chickens to suffer a little less horribly than they do every day of their short painful lives doesn't sound very asshatty to me ~ I'm really glad Californians showed they give a shit about a species other than their own.
People and animals both are entitled to the simple right of not having to not suffer miserably.

Oh don't get me wrong...I am totally in agreement. The conditions many animals endure is deplorable! I just don't understand why some people think some humans are somehow less worthy than animals to live a comfortable and happy life. That is what I meant by asshats....guess I should have been more specific...no offense!
