I was reading the WSJ online this morning and there is an article about the weather for the next week and how crappy it's going to be. Of course there are people leaving comments about how awful it is and then there is this comment:

I've never understood those here in Wisconsin who complain about cold and snow in January. It 's fucking Wisconsin...in January! Move South if it's that big of a deal to you!

Don't be so judgemental! Not ALL people living in WI are from WI!! Some of us are STILL getting used the insanity that is the weather here and if I had any way of leaving this place to move back to where I grew up, I'd certainly consider it with great fortitude!
It's taken me 10 years to get used this god-forsaken place where being an extra 10 to 20 lbs. overweight is acceptable due to the extreme temp change from 20 below zero to 110 above!
So...having said that I do feel like I have the right to complain from time to time about not living with ANY snow until I was 18 years old. And I don't think I'm an idiot..
I think I've adjusted well considering. And...we definitely have a stockpile of booze and wood now that we've both lived through last year's 110 inches of snow and crud. Hell I even bought and SUV, something I swore I'd NEVER do.

God-forsaken?! GOD-FORSAKEN?!?!

God LOVES us here in Wisconsin.

He loves us SO much He's given us beer, cheese, sassage, venison, venison sassage, vodka, beer...

Snow and freezing cold is His way of saying, "No, my little ones. Don't go outside. Stay in and drink beer and eat cheese to your hearts' content. I'll make it warmer again soon enough and you can go out and play."

Some people just don't get it. ;-)

Thanks to you and Keith, this winter has been much better for us! We've burned a large fire almost every night it's been super cold, which has helped both our physical and mental well being, and we always have a stockpile of booze to choose from and a couple extra beds just in case peeps get stuck on this side of town.
It's taken us almost 10 years, but I think we've finally become adjusted to the weather differential that is WI!
