More for me than you... but I feel like I ought to at least attempt to make some goals for this year.
1. Exercise more. For right now, this means trying to make use of that $4 yoga game I found for the DS, and maybe DDR when yoga doesn't fly. Also, stretching every day... It's not even funny how horribly inflexible I am.
2. Clean my apartment once a week. This includes ALL of the dishes. And vacuuming. But not necessarily mopping the kitchen floor, because let's be honest, it's really annoying getting out the mop for 2 square yards of tile. I've done it once in the last year and a half. Every other time I used 5 Clorox wipes instead, which is slightly less annoying and probably a lot more expensive in the long run, which is why I'm not doing it once a week.
3. Go through all my clothes and give all the ones I haven't worn since I got married to DI. Not counting my wedding dress, of course.
4. Move out of this apartment complex with their awful management. Our garbage disposal was broken for 3 weeks and we finally just fixed it ourselves (with the help of my sweet in-laws, since they know a lot more about garbage disposals than I do).
5. Play through, or at least try to play through, all the games we got for me on the DS/XBox. I might need rhb's help for some of them... (I got a head start on this one - I already beat Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Zelda: Minish Cap! And I started ChronoTrigger, but I've played that one before, so it has slightly lower priority.)
6. Finish all the books I borrowed from our neighbor 4 months ago. And all the new ones I got over Christmas break.
7. Go dispute the fine that the library put on my account in October so that I can read new releases without having to find someone who bought them.
8. Try new recipes for dinner at least once a month. And cook good, non-cop out dinners more often. (Maybe by planning out the week's meals in advance... a great idea, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen.)
9. Go to the temple at least once a month.
10. Start writing in my journal more, or posting on here more... either one accomplishes pretty much the same thing.
As part of #2 (and #1, to a lesser extent), I just spent 3 and a half hours cleaning and organizing the apartment. It wasn't awful, but remember that part about the garbage disposal? Yeah, that meant the kitchen was a disaster area. Sadly, not the worst it's ever been (shameful, I know), but bad enough that I knew it would not do to put it off any longer or I would never ever want to get to it. So now it is much, much more sparkly clean, and our bedroom is much neater, and all the laundry is done and put away. Hooray!
I have enjoyed this Christmas break quite a bit so far. We went to Phoenix for a week, where it was nice and warm. It was nice to visit with some of my family (M&D, P, and L), eat grapefruit and fresh orange juice, and go shopping. This past week I had to go back to work, but it was slow all week so it was definitely not stressful at all. I think I averaged around 25 calls a day, maybe less, instead of the usual 35-40. I wish it would stay that way! I know it won't, though, and maybe it's better that way... more job security I guess. It was also quite pleasant to have today off. I spent pretty much all morning being lazy, then visited with my in-laws in the afternoon, and then made myself productive all evening.
Tomorrow should be fun; I'm going shopping for my birthday with my mom. I'm not sure where yet, but I do have a whole list of kitchen stuff I wouldn't mind having, as well as winter boots and some new clothes for work... so we'll see what we can find.
Not much new to report, I suppose. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and all that good stuff.
