Aw dude. My biggest nightmare. I don't think I have wisdom teeth but I do feel like they're there under the gum. I mean I can feel the bumps with my tongue but nothing ever came through on any of them. I'm hoping it stays that way. In fact, if the day ever comes where I need to get those extracted I'm going to save everyone time by just jumping off the roof.

Dentists terrify me.

That SUCKS. Hopefully they'll just give you something to clear up the infection and say you're ok.

I agree about dentists. They're right up there with circus clowns on the Scare-O-Meter.

I have a dentist appointment on Friday. I haven't been in a long time, and I'm dreading it :(

Good luck with that. Hopefully you won't get the "oral surgery" bomb dropped on you.

I have to say that getting my wisdom teeth removed was, as far as oral surgery can go, actually pretty tolerable. Not that I'd go for shits and giggles or anything.

Sorry, buddy. But way to go on the flossing!

Did they put you under and everything? Or was it just a local anesthetic?

I was put under because I used to not handle dental work well at all. I was kind of a spaz. After the surgery wasn't that bad. I think I only ended up taking the hardcore drugs the first day and then after that I went to the over the counter stuff.

It was way less horrible than I thought it was going to be!

That's encouraging anyway. Admittedly, I'm a wimp when it comes to health issues. That coupled with the fact that I've never been put under before.

Here's hoping it's the 1. I had my wisdom teeth taken out years ago - a few of them, anyway, and it really wasn't terrible. They were something bad, too, like impacted into the bone - not "cyst" bad, but less than ideal. They'll knock you out, you'll get fun drugs and eat soup for a few days. And everyone will think you're ever so brave.

Ok, I'm not fretting quite as much now. I'm still hoping that I won't know to go through it all though.

Actually, I love soup.
