Telling your mom how you honestly feel is a step towards possibly changing your relationship for the better. Ignoring it means nothing will change.

Hmm well since it seems this has run its course I'll just leave most of this alone. I'll just comment about "Somehow, the things I want her to say to me, are almost never the things she says."

I have had that before too, but you just cant count on it. If you expect to get an answer from someone 9 times out of 10 you wont get it. Expecting an answer means you have either already made up your mind, or just want a yes man, or you are projecting roles/personality onto them which they will never be or dont want, or cant be.

Ahh, the joys of trying to relate to one's parental unit. How well I know this one. I do feel your pain man.
