I came home sick from work today... I think it's just a case of physical and mental exhaustion, but either way, I'm home when I should be working for another 5 hours. We hired someone new there, who either called in sick today, quit, or just plain didn't show up, leaving me and someone else to clean up after her. I can't help but fear the worst, ( Read more... )

I feel this - you are trying to take on too much college at once. MOST students take 12 credit hours as that is 12 hours of class time and 36 hours of studying in additon to the course.

Not many people work full time and go to college full time at the same time. Unfortunately I almost see that you fucked up royally (like me) when you were younger and coulda did the school FT only. Remember - if you piss off your Grandma too much, your free rent/car insurance/food/etc could magically be turned around.

Admit it - you can't do ANYTHING about your aunt. So why study there or relax there. There are a ton of places on campus that are open at all hours and even some areas in town. Try a book store - they usually have free WiFi and semi relaxing music. Just look at what -you- can do to fix things, not others.

I hope the best for you man.

I might just stick with the classes that I have and hold off on speech until my senior year. I just want to at least try to get done with college in less than 5 years... I hope that's not an unreasonable thing to want, but I hate my time in college and want to make it as short as possible. It's impossible to enjoy something like this. If I'm gonna have my mind ran through the gauntlet like this, I might as well make better money doing it.

Um..Speech is a prerequsite for quite a few classes required for the degree so it might be good to get rid of it kinda sooner than your Senior year.

I am not arguing that college sucks - heck I am going through the same fun now. Its just that I am saying that you should keep some peace in the house as if she snaps and says that you need to look for another place...well you know what would happen.

When you say finish college in less than 5 years, I would only consider that you started last year - anything before that can be considered trashed. Other than that, its a reasonable goal and I wish the best for you.
