Still Alive and Relatively Well

I'd like to say that I'm happily venturing
back into the world as if in pre-COVID times; but my reduced immune system necessitates caution.  I got my vaccinations in the spring; and have recently enjoyed going out to a real restaurant again, but I still shop mostly by delivery service, and wear a mask indoors.

Yes, it felt so good, so much fun, to be in my favorite restaurant again with my friend; it had been about 15 months since I'd gone into a restaurant. I probably won't be doing it in the winter, though, especially if COVID cases keep rising; my oncologist advises only dining inside a restaurant if it is not very crowded or if I have outdoor seating. No one seems to know for sure how long the protection of the vaccines will last...

But this summer, unlike last summer, I do take my mask off outside a lot more...

I'm glad to hear from you. I still wear a mask whenever I go somewhere indoors; I'm not sure what it'll take for me to stop but the rising cases (despite me being vaccinated) are not encouraging.

It was good to see a notification that you'd posted! I'm glad, too, to hear that you're coping with the pandemic well enough (ie, you haven't caught it and you're vaccinated and being careful). It's been a wild year, hasn't it.

I'm still masking indoors. Just when I thought there was a genuine downward trend (February), the cursed virus cases started upticking. At least deaths haven't gone up.

I'm beginning to think that I will be spending the rest of my life under COVID restrictions, having to mask and be careful due to being immunocompromised. I'm so sick of it.
