Something like this actually happened before... In 1972, Milt Pappas of the Cubs went to 2-2 on the 27th batter of a pending perfect game, only to have the next two pitches called balls. (Which the Cubs thought were strikes)
Owch! I know they won't change the result, but won't thdy do something to the ump? Depending on his record, I'd think it'd start at a fine and suspension and go on up to getting canned.

I still think Don Denkinger's missed call in the 9th inning of Game 6 of the 1985 World Series was worse.
