boy did you come out of left field -your work is excellent, extremely.
would love to see the detail, but i'll tell you, what is seen here is just as remarkable in the macro view; color (surely), composition, -the whole enchilada.
...six foot is big indeed -your studio space requirements must be considerable.
Glad you enjoyed it! I usually get a little nuts with using teeny tiny brushes - I'm a tad detail obsessed - but this was by far the largest piece I've done like that. I don't mind saying I'm glad it's done.
Love your work as well! It's like Moebius with Bill Griffith's surreal sense of humor.
i'm just an art bum. i tighten up when doing commercial work, and the work looks too labored and agonized over. psyched out self-consciously.
LJ's been a godsend for me since 1999, but the immediacy of the web and the seeming almost realtime expectations (back in the day, when webcams were novel) minimized my linework a lot. the web may not seem as urgent to me now, and the lines are scratchier, but still as minimal.
...on the other end of such spectrums though, lemme introduce you to my good friend jean-paul mavinga.
