Draft Dodging?

As some political savvy people may know here in the states now, there was a bit of a stint where we had one of the newly elected democrats say he was gonna bring up a proposal for re-instating the military draft. It sounds reasonable. Doesn't do much to solve the fact that I'm a small-bodied, out-of-shape coward, though. :x

On paper that sounds alright. It might even help reverse some of the infantilization that's going on. But considering how broke my state is, I have to wonder where the money would come from. That, and suddenly pulling someone away from their cushy desk job or safe labor and into a setting where death is real... the usual payoff probably wont cut it. And for the practical minded, a big thank-you and a medal wont, either.

Interesting, the best they can do with us pacifists here in case shit really hits the fan is ship us to medical and civilian facilities as close to the frontline as possible to work there, but still with enough cannon-fodder in the way among which is defense line Omega whose job is surrendering to whatever enemy who makes it that far.
