Tatsuya looked down on wrist-clock again. It had only been a few minutes since the last time she looked at it but she couldn't help it, she wanted to go home but she didn't dare to leave the school alone. The last time she did, she had been attacked by a gang from another school, and once Ryo had actually gotten there Tatsuya was only moments away from being raped so since then Ryo hadn't allowed his girlfriend to walk to or from school without either him or one of his “men” around for protection.

“Come on, Ryo.” Tatsuya mumbled to herself as she looked at the clock again.

“Are you waiting for someone?” Tatsuya jumped a little as she heard the voice behind her. She turned around only to see two boys her own age standing there, schoolbags thrown over their shoulders, watching her.

“Yes, so please leave me alone.” She turned around again, hoping to catch a glimpse of her boyfriend when she felt an arm around her neck.

“That's not very nice.” One of the boys, the one with his arm around her, whispered into her ear, making her flinch away from him.

She took a step back to keep the distance between them but the boys followed her. She knew the look in their eyes a little too well by now and although she was fairly used to being attacked, she wondered if she would ever get used to any other man than Ryo touching her .

“Please, just leave me alone. I'm waiting for my boyfriend.” She said trying to scare the boys away but they just smirked and took a step closer.

“You do realize what time it is, right? If he hasn't picked you up yet then he's not likely to come at all.” The taller of the boys said and stroked a finger across Tatsuya's cheek but the girl slapped it away.

“Don't touch me.” Her voice was hard and she was staring straight into the young man's dark eyes. She still didn't like people touching her after that last attack, she sometimes even had problems with Ryo running his slender fingers over her skin. Not that she would ever admit that though.

“Don't get cocky with me, princess. There is no reason to be rude when we're just trying to talk to you.” The shorter of the boys grabbed a firm hold of the collar of her shirt and pulled her closer to himself until she could feel his body pressing against hers.

“What the hell do you think you are doing?” A firm familiar voice made Tatsuya jerk her head up towards the gates. But her rapidly beating heart slowed down as she realized that it wasn't her boyfriend that had come to her rescue.

“Who the hell are you?” The boy holding onto the girl's collar asked.

“My name is Tanaka Koki, that girl's bodyguard and your worst nightmare.” Koki took a step closer and after seeing the mad look in the older boy's eyes, the two boys were gone before Tatsuya could even count to three.

“Are you okay?” Koki walked up to the younger girl as his now calm eyes searched her body for any injuries.

“Y... Yeah. Thank you, Koki-senpai.” She bowed slightly and reached for her bag that had fallen from her shoulder during the commotion.

“That's good, and stop calling me 'senpai'. It makes me sound old.” Koki smiled at her as he reached for her bag as well and before she could take it, he had picked it up and swung it over his shoulder. “Let's go.” That warm smile made Tatsuya crack one as well and with a small chuckle she followed her senpai away from the school.

Koki was one of Ryo most trusted friends and when Ryo was... Well, let's say: Incapable, of coming to pick her up, Koki was usually the one to guard her.

It's not that she disliked him or anything but she was always a little disappointed when it wasn't Ryo who was waving at her from the school gates. She knew that Koki was just as strong and kind as Ryo but for some reason she felt safer when she was with Ryo.

Yes, she had major trust issues but her efforts to rid herself of those issues were constantly ruined by Ryo's opponents who just kept attacking her, even though she had nothing to do with Ryo's business.

“Ryo wanted me to tell you he won't be able to see you this weekend. There are some stuff he needs to take care of... Important stuff.” He quickly added, trying to make the whole thing easier for the younger girl.

“It's alright, Koki. I'm used to Ryo choosing fights over me. There is really no need for you to make me feel better.” She turned to the older man, her lips were curled up in a smile but the look in her eyes was anything but happy. It looked more like the pair of dark eyes were dead, instead of sad. Koki felt how his heart hurt when he saw the forced smile, he sometimes hated his friend for constantly hurting the younger girl but for some strange reason Tatsuya had stayed with Ryo for almost four months.

“What do you see in him?” Koki suddenly asked and Tatsuya looked at him with surprised eyes before cracking a shy smile.

“He looks like a bastard but has the heart of child. He's very dominant, but still very kind. And although he doesn't really know how to show it, he loves me. That's good enough for me.” Koki stopped but the girl kept on going.

How could she remain so positive knowing that her boyfriend, the man that she loved, would rather choose a weekend of fighting and drinking instead of being with her? He really didn't understand how that was possible but he knew that Ryo was the first she had ever truly loved so maybe she thought that this was normal behavior.

He ran up to the girl's side again but he didn't say anything, if she was happy like this then who was he to tell her it as wrong?

As long as she smiled whenever he saw her with Ryo he wasn't going to say anything about the way she lived her life, as long as she was happy, he was happy.

After reaching her house, Tatsuya waved goodbye to Koki but he waited outside for a little while just to make sure no one else had followed her home. You see, he last time he had failed to protect her, Ryo had put him in the hospital so he wasn't about to let her get hurt again.

While walking away from the girl's house, he rubbed his wrist that still ached from the time Ryo had broken it, whether or not he wanted it, it was a constant reminder why he never crossed Ryo anymore.

Tatsuya looked out the window and sighed, it was Friday afternoon and knowing that she would have to spend the weekend alone again made her even more depressed than the fact that next week would be exam-week.

“Tat-chan!” One of the girls who had remained in the classroom during lunch, sat down on the schoolbench in front of her. “What are you doing after school today?”

“Ehh...” Tatsuya hesitated whether she should answer or not. She knew very little about this girl and for all she did know, the kind looking girl could be in some strange conspiracy with Ryo's enemies.

“Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to surprise you.” The girl smiled at her apologetically. “My name is Hibino Sakura. I've watched you since we started school and I've really wanted to be friends with you but I've been a little shy to ask before now.”

Tatsuya didn't say anything, she just looked at the girl. She had never really had a female friend before, much less since she started dating Ryo since she wanted to be able to see him whenever he had the time. But knowing that she wouldn't be seeing her boyfriend for the whole weekend anyway, she smiled at the girl on her bench.

“What did you have in mind?”

“Ehh? Well, how do you feel about going shopping and then a movie?” Sakura seemed a little surprised that the other had accepted her offer but she returned the smile to Tatsuya.

“Sounds good to me, I never go out shopping anymore... I never really leave the house anymore.” She thought aloud, making Sakura's mouth drop open.

“Uso?! You never leave the house?” Tatsuya shook her head. “Then we need to change that.”

Several hours later Tatsuya found herself, together with Sakura, walking out of the movie-theater with hands full of bags with new clothes and accessories that Sakura had helped her to find. Tatsuya ha never spent money like that before and despite the fact that it felt a little strange to spend money instead of saving them, she felt very happy with her many purchases. The clothes that she had found had fit her perfectly and although they differed very much from what she usually wore, she couldn't wait to show them to Ryo.

“With any luck he will say that I'm beautiful.” Tatsuya thought as she blushed a little and Sakura looked at her with a smile as she realized that the girl had really enjoyed their day together.

“Sakura?” The two girls turned around to see who had called out. Tatsuya wasn't really aware of who she was supposed to look at but Sakura obviously was as she squealed and jumped into the arms of a tall man, not much older than themselves.

“What are you doing here?” She asked with a huge smile on her lips and the man chuckled as he let her down again.

“I had some business to take care of near here. How about you?” His dark eyes twinkled as he looked at Sakura, and Tatsuya could tell even from that kind of distance that the girl blushed when the man smiled warmly at her.

“Me and one of my classmates were out shopping and we thought we would catch a movie before heading home again.” Sakura grabbed the man's hand and pulled him in the direction of Tatsuya. “This is Ueda Tatsuya. Tatsuya, this is a childhood friend of mine. Akanishi Jin.” Sakura smiled so much Tatsuya thought the girl's jaw would break soon but when the man reached out his hand to greet her, Tatsuya lost all thoughts about Sakura's jaw.

“You can just call me Jin.” He smiled and shook her hand. “All of my friends do.”

“Since when are we friends?” Tatsuya asked and although she meant nothing bad by it, the question might have seemed a bit rude.

Her directness seemed to take Jin by surprise but then he chuckled and looked into her eyes.

“You don't by any chance happen to know someone named Nishikido Ryo?” Tatsuya was shocked at first. How did he know about Ryo? But then she started thinking.

He said he had taken care of some business and considering the red skin over his knuckles, Tatsuya understood that he was in the same “business” as Ryo. Meaning that she was not supposed to socialize with him since in the end she would only get hurt if she did.

“That's none of your business.” She said in a fairly cold voice and tried to retrieve her hand from his but his grip was too strong for her to escape from.

“Tat-chan. Is something wrong?” Sakura asked unsure about whether or not she should interrupt.

“No, I'm fine. I just remembered I have something to do at home....”

“It can't be that urgent, can it? After all, you spent the whole day with Sakura shopping.” This man's smug smile was really starting to freak Tatsuya out and just as she was about to start clawing at the inside of his hand to get him to let hers go Tatsuya heard a voice that she, at the moment, both loved and feared.

“What are you doing here, Tatsuya?” TShe could almost feel Ryo's angry eyes staring at her back. His voice was cold yet calm, meaning that he was furious and Tatsuya, who never liked when he was in a bad mood, sure as hell hated when he was angry. Whether or not it was at her.

“Nishikido, I'm surprised to see you here so soon. I wasn't expecting the news about my intrusion on your turf to reach you that fast.” Jin said in a mocking voice, still not letting go of Tatsuya's hand and the girl saw how Ryo's gaze traveled from his enemies face to their hands, and it looked like something in him snapped. His eyes turned darker and when he opened his mouth to speak again, the words sounded more like the low growlings of a beast.

“Let her go now.”

“Well, that's too bad, Tat-chan. Looks like we have to go out to eat some other time, it was a very nice idea though.”

She couldn't believe him! He actually made up something like that and made it sound like she was flirting with him... In front of Ryo, the most jealous boyfriend north of Australia!

He let go off her hand but before taking Sakura's hand to walk away, he leaned in and kissed Tatsuya's cheek with his smug eyes focused on Ryo.

“I'll be seeing you again soon.” He whispered into the girl's ear and walked away with the living questionmark named Sakura.

“Ryo...” Tatsuya tried to look up at her boyfriend's face but one glance at him and she turned her eyes back onto the ground again.

“We're leaving.” His cold voice made her shiver and without a word she followed him and Koki away from the movie-theater.

“Get inside.” Ryo opened his apartment-door and not daring to look him in the eyes, Tatsuya passed him with her head bowed.

Ryo on the other hand looked at her back as she slowly made her way into the apartment, his chest was cold and he felt the fury rise in him as he saw her.

“Ryo.” Koki put a hand on his shoulder, turned him around and looked him straight in the eyes. “I know you're angry but don't do anything stupid.” He warned but Ryo jerked his shoulder away from his friend's grip but still answered his worried gaze.

“I do what I see fit.” He broke the eye-contact and walked to the door. “Don't forget that.” The voice was firm and hard and although Koki might imagine what the other was thinking he still feared for the girl's safety as the door was closed in front of him.

“I beg you, Ryo. Don't hurt the girl, you will only hurt yourself in the end if you do.” He walked away, his head hung low and his heart filled with worry.

Ryo sat on the couch, his eyes traveled to the window. He watched the sky turn darker and darker, he didn't dare to look at Tatsuya who was standing in front of him in fear of his anger making him do things he would regret later on.

The blood which was pumping through his veins brought the fury from his head to his heart and it would break unless he did something soon.

“Ryo...?” Tatsuya asked in a nervous voice. She was confused and frightened, was Ryo going to believe Akanishi over her? Would he break up with her?

“Don't speak.” The cold voice made her freeze. She could hear how he was trying to compose himself but she was such a need to know what she had done wrong that she at that moment didn't care what happened to her.

She took a step closer to him but he stood up so quickly she unconsciously took a step back again.

“Don't move!” He screamed. “If you have any kind of humanity left in you after you betrayed me, don't move!” He stormed over to her and without any warnings he let his hand fly to her face.

The sound of the hard fist hitting the beautiful face echoed in the silent room. Tatsuya stood up from where she had fallen and looked into the eyes of the man she loved, they were darker than before and although she was afraid she still opened her mouth to speak again.

“Ryo. I would never do anything to betray....” Her sentence was interrupted by a pair of lips crashing against hers.

She was shocked by the man's action but she didn't dare to push him away. His kisses were rough, almost violent, and Tatsuya felt how her lower lip started to bleed as he caught it in between his teeth and bit down on it.

She was scared, he had never been violent with her before and he had never tried to force himself on her. He had always been as kind as he could when touching her, he was always careful not to hurt her when entering her but none of that mattered now.

As he continued to kiss her furiously his hand traveled down her stomach and once it reached the hem of her jeans, he couldn't get her out of them fast enough.

Flinching away from his every touch, Tatsuya tried to wriggle out of his firm grip around her waist as he held her down against the mattress.

She was breathing hard, but not from excitement. This side of Ryo terrified her and when she felt his hard member enter her, she closed her eyes, took a deep breath and bit down on her already bleeding lip.

The pain when he pushed into her roughly made her scream but he paid her no attention, if she wanted to scream she could scream. It didn't bother him, in fact he didn't hear it over his load groaning as she clamped down on him, making him empty his load inside of her.

He collapsed on top of her and despite the fact that she had difficulty breathing Tatsuya made no attempt to push him away. She just turned her head to the side, letting the many tears that had remained unshed during the act itself, fall from her eyes.

After a while Ryo rolled off of her, got out of the bed and got dressed again.

“Don't go near Akanishi again.” He said after he had pulled on a hoodie and without an other word he walked out of the apartment.

“Don't betray me again, Hime” He thought as he walked down the street with the blood still rushing furiously through his veins.

“What was with you last Friday?” Sakura sat down on the empty chair next to her classmate's. “We were having a great time but then you started acting all weird to Jin and then some crazy guy shows up and just takes you away. Who was that anyway? And why are your bangs covering your...” Sakura stopped speaking as she lifted the girl's bangs out of the way, only to discover a big, swollen bruise covering her right cheekbone.

“Which question do you want me to answer first?” Tatsuya asked with a obvious fake smile.

“What happened?” Sakura was now whispering, she looked worried as she let go off the bangs so they covered the bruise again.

“Nothing important, just a little fight.” She smiled even wider, hoping for Sakura to be fooled but it wasn't as easy as Tatsuya had thought.

“Was it that guy?” Tatsuya cursed at herself for turning her face to the window while the smile on her lips faded, which was pretty much a 'yes' to Sakura's question. “Did he do it because Jin kissed you?”

“I guess. But it's not really his fault.” Sakura looked at her like she had just grown a second head.

“There is something wrong with you if you don't blame him for that.”

“Don't judge me just because I don't blame him for getting pissed at me. He has done a lot to protect me and the only reason for me not going outside except for school is because I would get attacked by those who hated him. He's gone out of his way to make rules that I broke simply because I was depressed about not having seen him for a month!” Tatsuya was now standing up and she was almost screaming, making the entire classroom turn around to look at them.

Sakura also looked at her but it was more like shock than surprise.

“You... You haven't met your boyfriend for a month?”

“It's kind of amazing how I said all that and all that caught your attention was that little part.” Tatsuya sat down again with a sigh.

“I'm sorry.” Sakura brought a hand up to Tatsuya's face again and when Tatsuya felt the fingers against her skin she flinched. “Does it hurt?” The slightly younger girl asked with a worried voice.

“No, I was just a little surprised. I don't really see anything through these thick bangs.” Tatsuya chuckled and leaned back on the chair.

She didn't really care about what had happened. She understood Ryo's situation and she also knew that he was doing it for her own sake so she couldn't really blame him for what he had done.

It may have appeared strange to others but it was way to show her that he was worried abut him, Tatsuya knew that Ryo wasn't the type to talk about his feelings unless he desperately needed to.

“I was thinking about something.” Tatsuya said and Sakura turned her head in her direction again. “Since I'm not really safe outside, what do you say about coming over to my place this afternoon? I was happy when you wanted to hang out and I really feel like we can be friends.”

Sakura didn't really answer, she just grinned and threw her arms around Tatsuya's neck.

“I'll take that as a 'Yes'” Tatsuya laughed and squeezed the arms around her neck.

This could be the start of a new chapter in Ueda Tatsuya's life.
