My brother visited the Met Office down in Exeter a while back. They had an interesting number- because of the way things are regional, a 3.5 degree global temperature rise by 2040 ( quite probable at current rates ) will mean something close to a 15 degree rise for us here.

That will alter the ecosystem somewhat...
