So, I didn't get the position on the paper, though it was a very nice turn down. I got a personal call from the publisher and chief editor. Basically, I was told that I was going to be hired for the job, until about yesterday when one last applicant came in with a love for sports. Something that knocked all of us out of the competition. Funny thing

The Star Wars thing was priceless. Again, I'm sorry you didn't get the position in the paper. Although it sounds like it's more of a positive thing than a negative.
