first of all, saw a ton of old friends and many, many people with LJs. it was a great weekend overall, but i think the stress of being "on" to promote
Think GalactiCon almost constantly affected my ability to enjoy things more

You're fuckin' A right, finally!
(I can't believe I just said "fuckin' A".)
I'm glad you had good times. Hopefully I'll tag along again next year.

what do i need to get you to come to our con? you can volunteer and i know at least i would probably help you with gas monies, so it wouldn't been a huge financial burden. think about it.
also, i can think of at least a few ways that your icon can be feminist friendly...

And I've managed to find all their b-sides and a few live items online. I can totally hook you up.
Mostly, you should see them live. It's like the album's energy and fun times a billion.
I'm totally totally thinking about TGCon. In fact, as we speak, I'm perusing the panel discussion thread. Mostly, I just need to hit Chicago again. Last time I was there (November) was a weird bittersweet thing and I want to cleanse that memory and get back on friendly terms with that big lug of a town.

there's a few panels ideas we have around discussion dynamics and privilege that i think we need to firm up and see what can be done at TGcon. the male tendency to talk over people and dominate discussion was actually brought up on the email exchanges prior to the Male Allies panel and we touched on it during the panel. Talking to Aaron Lichtov, I realized you could have a WHOLE panel just related to the concept of interruption and conversational dynamics. Ben Rosenbaum was talking about being Jewish and coming from a cultural tradition that expects people to speak up loudly and often in the course of a debate. however, he also acknowledged that outside of those expectations, it causes problems.
