Quiet

Enjoying the quiet of an early Monday Morning. Kids went home yesterday. The temperatures cooled nicely over night. Even Chessie is nearly comatose on the bear skin rug.

Physically I feel drained by the heat. Too listless to shower and go for a walk before it heats up. But I am enduring.

We don't have A/C, either. The heat is worse on Dave than me. We also have Smart Days via PG&E, where we get a break on our electric bill if we cut way back 2-7 pm on those days. Which means shutting off all those gadgets that generate heat, anyway.

My neighbor has been going swimming down in The Boulder Creek of Boulder Creek. Maybe I'll join her, next really hot day. Until then, iced tea and an occasional shower are my friends.

I ran away in the new car with air conditioning. Got 1 mile walking in the shade of an old favorite park. Lunch in an air conditioned restaurant. Then another walk inside an air conditioned mall that had a Barnes and Noble where I spent my allowance. Sitting under a fan now.
