Doctor Who? Like, actually, Doctor Who? I don't know who this guy is -- but I read somewhere that as soon as he walked in to audition they just knew. But -- David -- sigh.
Meh. I'm trying to reserve judgement until I've seen him in the role. To me, it's that "old soul" part that really makes someone the Doctor to me. I had my doubts about Tennant because of his age, too. But if this guy can look into the camera and convince me that he has a thousand years of history and loss behind those eyes, then I'll take him - weird hair and all.
I feel bad for the guy, such huge shoes to fill, and he's going into it already dreadfully unwanted. He's made some noise on the London stage, I hope they give him a fair shot, no he's not Tennant, but no one is.
*sigh* I'm reserving judgement on how good he actually is as The Doctor until I've seen him in the role. But for now I don't want David Tennant to leave. I'm going to miss watching the behind the scenes show and him using his real accent. *happy sigh*
I think the best doctors are the older ones, like Pertwee and Baker but they were back in the day when Dr Who was more about the monsters and less about the sex appeal.
lol Prior to the Tenth Doctor, there's no way you could have convinced me that 'Doctor Who' and 'sex appeal' belonged in the same sentance. I think the younger ones can still do the role, but they have to be really great actors!
